Washington D.C. – Today two major national environmental groups – the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund and the NRDC Action Fund – jointly announced their endorsement of Daniel Biss for U.S. House of Representatives in Illinois’ 9th district.
“Daniel Biss has a proven track record fighting for the people of Illinois and will continue fighting for communities, clean air and water, and our democracy when in Congress,” said LCV Action Fund Vice President of Political Affairs Craig Auster. “The future of our climate and our rights are increasingly at stake every day under the Trump administration, and LCV Action Fund is all in to elect candidates like Daniel Biss who are committed to protecting our planet and the health and safety of people across the country.”
“Daniel Biss will not back down when it comes to confronting the climate crisis and protecting public health in Congress,” said NRDC Action Fund Managing Director Jed Ober. “In the Illinois legislature, and as mayor of Evanston, Daniel has proven he knows how to fight and win on policies that are good for people and the planet. As the Trump administration continues to attack the environment, the climate and our health, we need leaders like Daniel Biss in Congress to fight back.”
“Daniel Biss has been a consistent leader on climate, standing with the environmental community at every turn,” said Conservation Illinois PAC President Jen Walling. “From advancing building performance standards to blocking federal rollbacks in Illinois, he has a strong and proven record of delivering meaningful climate and environmental progress. In Congress, Daniel will make climate and environmental protection a top priority to protect public health and affordability.”
“Trump and his fossil fuel backers are rolling back decades-old environmental protections, accelerating climate change, and driving up energy costs,” said Daniel Biss. “The NRDC Action Fund and the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund are on the front lines fighting Trump’s dangerous agenda, and I’m proud to have their support in this race. In Congress, I will push for bold climate solutions that invest in clean energy, lower costs for families, and protect our air and water. Climate change is real, it is happening, and we must act now.”
