The NRDC Action Fund, a national environmental organization, today announced its endorsement of Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D) in his campaign for the U.S. Senate in Texas.
“Beto O’Rourke shares the values of Texas families who care about safe water, clean air and protecting wildlife and wild places,” said Kevin S. Curtis, executive director of the NRDC Action Fund. “All Texans deserve a senator who’ll work for them instead of the corporate lobbyists who are financing Ted Cruz’s reelection campaign.”
O’Rourke’s pro-environment voting record earned him a 100 percent score from the League of Conservation Voters in 2017. His opponent, Sen. Ted Cruz (R), earned a score of zero.
“At a time when this administration is rolling back conservation efforts across the country, scaling back our national parks and undermining efforts to combat the effects of climate change, Texans are demanding something better — a future where our kids and their kids can visit our national treasures, camp in our public lands and be guaranteed fresh air, clean water and a senator who believes in science,” said Representative O’Rourke. “We are proud to have the endorsement of the NRDC Action Fund as our campaign discusses environmental concerns and works to make November 2018 a turning point for conservation efforts nationwide.”
