WASHINGTON, Nov. 6, 2020 – By electing Joe Biden, Americans have chosen a leader who has promised to tackle the climate crisis starting on Day One.

“Today is a new day. The people have spoken and it’s time for change!
“Joe Biden’s climate plan is the strongest we have ever seen from any president before him. Not only that — but the country elected Kamala Harris, the first female vice president of color in our nation’s history! And she is just the partner we need with us in this fight — sharing her deep understanding of the climate crisis.
“Now it’s time to turn promises into progress, with policy solutions and sound investments that cut climate pollution, create millions of good-paying jobs, protect the health of our people, and advance justice and equity for us all.
“That’s how we will get the economy humming again and get our workers back on their feet. It’s how we will improve people’s health nationwide, which is more important than ever in the middle of a respiratory pandemic, especially for communities of color who are being hit the hardest. It’s how we get our arms around the climate crisis that’s upending more and more lives from the heartland to the sea. And it’s how we build a world we can be proud to pass on to our children and our grandchildren.
