Gina McCarthy: Trump Agenda Benefits Polluters, Not People

WASHINGTON (July 16, 2020) – President Trump is expected to deliver remarks at the White House today touting his administration’s deregulatory record. The speech comes days after Joe Biden unveiled an ambitious plan to tackle climate change, make our air and water cleaner, and our communities healthier.

Gina McCarthy, president and CEO of the NRDC Action Fund, issued the following statement:

“The same week Joe Biden unveiled an ambitious plan to give our children a better future—Donald Trump is patting himself on the back for putting polluters before people. This November, voters will determine what kind of world we want pass on to the next generation. On one hand, we have a President who is proudly robbing American families of the peace of mind that our water is safe to drink, that the air we breathe won’t make us sick, and that our future is secure. On the other, you have a candidate who is committed to fighting for a cleaner, healthier, more just and more prosperous tomorrow—starting on day one. The choice couldn’t be clearer.”
