WASHINGTON (July 21, 2022)—The NRDC Action Fund, a national environmental organization, today announced five more candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives have earned its endorsement.
“It’s hot as hell this summer across the country and around the world,” said Kevin S. Curtis, executive director of the NRDC Action Fund. “We need lawmakers who understand there isn’t a moment to waste in the transition to a clean energy economy – one that will grow jobs and improve the lives of those who are hardest hit by the extreme weather we are seeing. These candidates understand we can’t leave this to future generations to figure out, especially when we have the tools right now to fix it.”
The newly endorsed U.S. House candidates are:
- Dr. Asif Mahmood (CA-40)
- State Sen. Wiley Nickel (NC-13)
- Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-07)
- Eric Sorensen (IL-17)
- Rep. Dina Titus (NV-01)
The NRDC Action Fund is endorsing its largest-ever slate of candidates during the 2022 political cycle. NRDC Action Votes and NRDC Action Fund PAC, political committees affiliated with the organization, raise millions of dollars in support of these and other pro-environment candidates through GiveGreen.com, a donor platform that has already raised more than $17 million for pro-environment candidates this cycle and more than $100 million since its inception in 2009.
