WASHINGTON (March 4, 2025)—President Donald Trump repeated numerous false claims about clean energy and the economy in a speech before Congress tonight.
Mike Cassesso, political and advocacy director for the NRDC Action Fund, issued the following statement in reply:
“The American people want to move toward more clean, American-made renewable energy, but Trump wants to keep us all reliant on expensive, polluting fossil fuels to benefit the Big Oil CEOs who funded his campaign. That’s the wrong direction for American families and for our country, so we will hold lawmakers accountable for any votes that undermine the clean energy expansion that’s lowering prices and creating jobs, and they will feel that accountability on Election Day next year.”
